These unique winetasting fundraisers will kick off with “A Taste of Spring” on Thursday, April 28 at The Sight Center's South Toledo facility. Guests will blind sample a variety of fine wines, enjoy tasty food pairings, and participate in fun awareness activities that demonstrate some of the many solutions used every day by people who live with permanent vision loss. Throughout the evening, guests can use personal blindfolds to simulate darkness and heighten non-visual senses. The self-directed nature of The Blind Wine Event gives guests the freedom to decide the order of the tastings and activities without having to sit through a program or speeches. Guests can also win prizes and bid on special silent auction packages during the event. Tickets are $45 per person and include wine samples, food pairings, and a personal blindfold. Attendance will be limited to 60 people for Blind Wine Events. All proceeds from The Blind Wine Event will help The Sight Center empower independence and enrich the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired.
