Blood Drive Volunteer - Donor Ambassador Duties: Welcome, greet, check in and take temperatures of blood donors. Escort as necessary and assist with initial intake of the blood donation process. Ensure blood donors have relevant information and that questions are answered appropriately. In addition, attend to donors in the hospitality area, ensure each donor is recognized for his/her contribution and set up and maintain reception and hospitality areas. Requirements and Commitment: Must be age 16+, commit to 1-2 shifts (4-6 hours) a month. Flexible schedule - volunteers get to choose which blood drives to staff! Blood Transportation Specialist (Cuyahoga, Summit, Mahoning and Lucas Counties) Duties: Support the collection efforts of the Northern Ohio Blood Services Region by transporting blood and blood products from blood collection sites to the laboratory for processing. Commitment: Minimum commitment of 2 volunteer shifts per month, 4-6 hours per shift Disaster Response (Disaster Action Team Member) - VIRTUAL Duties: Help your community when a home fire or other disaster occurs. Virtual disaster response has been implemented. If a virtual response is not possible, DAT response procedures will require maintaining social distancing (6 feet apart) and provide materials to the client without direct personal contact. Requirements and Commitment: Must be age 18+, commit to 24 on-call volunteer hours per month and training to serve in the role. Services to the Armed Forces: Hero Care Regional Family Contact Volunteer - VIRTUAL Duties: Ensure that military families know they are supported during the critical times of entering the military and preparing for deployment. Support and assist with the full range of client services to military members, veterans, and their families, to include: emergency communications; information and referral; access to financial assistance; and family follow-up services.
