Opportunity: Rescue Mental Health & Addiction Services Requests Donations for Mobile Response & Stabilization Services Rescue Mental Health & Addiction Services, a non-profit behavioral health care organization dedicated to providing timely and compassionate evidence-based recovery and crisis services, is requesting donations and monetary support for its Mobile Response & Stabilization Services (MRSS). MRSS is a program designed to help families of children under the age of 21 after the family identifies that their child is in crisis. The MRSS team responds wherever the crisis is occurring, providing crisis assessment, stabilization, linkage and referral, and skill development with up to six weeks of follow-up management for the entire family. The program is designed to keep kids in their homes, in school, out of the juvenile justice system or emergency rooms. Any donation will allow Rescue to continue to support its mission and expand its outreach of this important community program. MRSS is requesting monetary, food, gift basket and gift card donations for the Oct. 7-Dec. 16 program to start. The program runs each Wednesday, and typically includes four staff members and up to 12 parents and 12 kids. MRSS is also seeking a donation giveaway for children and a donation giveaway for adults, as well as a food donation for all attendees if possible. Children can be between ages 7 and 17, and parent ages vary. When a child or adolescent experiences a mental health crisis, family members, school officials or law enforcement officers can contact Rescue at 419-255-3125. Rescue will dispatch its MRSS team to provide stabilization services wherever the crisis is occurring. By de-escalating emotional or behavioral issues, the program helps reduce emergency room utilization, school expulsions and incarcerations.
