Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, Bolt provides Time Critical™ freight transportation services throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Bolt Express finished another record year for sales and activity by celebrating their one millionth load in mid-December. Jeff Weis, CFO, has been a member of the Bolt team since the company was founded in 2001. "This is a great accomplishment for all of our employees and drivers. What makes this so special is that we have stayed true to our plan for aggressive, yet controlled growth that emphasizes customer service, employee satisfaction and safety on the road. All members of our team should be very proud of what we have accomplished and more importantly, how we did it.” Bolt Express now employs over 155 employees and 550 drivers. They are quick to attribute their success to their attitude first hiring philosophy. A great example of this philosophy is Nancy Disbrow who joined the Bolt team in 2011 as a temporary employee and now serves as their Director of Human Resources SHRM-SCP and oversees all Bolt Express organizational development and communication. Disbrow accredits Bolt’s success to each member of the Bolt Express team and their commitment to the company’s values. “Technical skills are important at Bolt but the driving force behind our success has been our practice of hiring individuals who approach their job with an entrepreneurial spirit but also understand the importance of working as a team. These employees are always positive; they’re motivated to learn and looking for an opportunity to grow with our organization” With one million loads behind them, the Bolt team has their sights set on a larger goal of establishing themselves as the largest time critical transportation service provider in North America. Their key to continued success lies in their ability to maintain a culture that ensures an overwhelmingly positive experience for their customers, drivers and employees.
