OWNER/FOUNDER: Nyesha Berger I would like to start by introducing myself and giving you a bit of my background. My name Is Nyesha Berger, I am a Toledo native and only child raised by my Grandmother Daisy Neal Birchfield. I am a dedicated Christian woman that loves to serve my community. I am the mother of 4 wonderful children Diamond & Terrance Harris and Jeano & Lynden Brown I have one granddaughter Amiri Harris. I am currently a certified foster parent for the Lucas County Children's Services. This brings me to my story of who inspired me to start a business to help children and give back to the community. Ever since I was a child, I always had a vision of helping children because I was raised by my grandma, she gave me a beautiful life and always talked about the importance of helping others. As an adult, I donated hats, gloves, coats, etc. to local community centers, and/or just any child that was in need. I felt that wasn’t enough so I started to feed as many homeless people as I could. In 2019 I decided to give back more to the Community, so I became a foster parent and have fostered 3 small children ages 4 to 7. This has made a significant impact on these children’s lives and their mothers, I was able to give them the same love my Grandma gave me. My purpose and my passion led me to the decision to open a Childcare Community Center. My center is not only just providing a safe and clean environment, we will be there to support the community. One day in April of 2023 while sitting in my car waiting for my grandma to pick me up from home, I received a call from Jermaine Griswald he explained to me he was a loan officer from Huntington Bank and would like to help fund my business with a program they have called Lift Local, I then laughed and told him I gave up on that dream some time ago. Jermaine did not take NO for an answer, he insisted I start the process. Jermaine worked with me round the clock. I was partnered with Erik Johnson from the Institute who closely walked me through preparing my business plan, and Ebony Carter with Minority Business Assistance Center. Fadi and Rami Sebai with SVN Reality provided me with an amazing location to operate my business and Tara Williams assisted me with business strategy as a woman-owned business. Jearmaine with Huntington Bank stuck with me until everything was complete. Guiding me along the way with the approval for funding and he always kept a smile. Unfortunately, my beautiful, loving, supportive grandmother who inspired me to give back to others, unexpectedly passed away on March 6th, 2024. We received the keys to Blooming Daisy’s Childcare Center on April 1st, 2024. Even though she was not able to witness the outcome of Blooming Daisy’s. The joy of it all is that one phone call from Jermaine Griswald with Huntington Bank was a dream come true now we will celebrate Daisy Day, every year on September 10th with community events. In honor of my Grandma's Birthday. Her Name and Legacy will live forever. Thank you! I am forever Grateful, Blooming Daisy’s Childcare Center LLC Owner and Founder Nyesha Berger
