Event Description: Leadership Academy 2012

Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce - 300 Madison Ave. 2nd Floor

10-week course starting Monday, January 16 and running through Monday, March 26 (Graduation ceremony)
5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each Monday evening  (meal served at 5:30 p.m., class begins at 6:00 p.m.)

Cost:  $250

This 10-week course outlines the basic issues, expectations and practices associated with various types of public service.  If you are a current public official; private citizen considering running for public office; an individual appointed to a board, commission or committee; or anyone employed in a position that requires interaction with elected officials -- you need to enroll in Leadership Academy.

Jan. 23 - "Leadership Skills, Styles & Effective Decision Making" - The Honorable Barbara Sears, Ohio House of Representatives, District 46

Jan. 30 - "Building Sustainable Communities" - Myra Moss, Community Development Specialist, Licking County Extension Office

Feb. 6 - "Technology in Local Government" - Glenn Grisdale, AICP, GISP, Reveille Limited

Feb. 13 - "Intergovernmental Relations/Economic Development" - Tony Reams, President, Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments

Feb. 20 - "Team Building" - Gretchen Carrol, J.D., Professor of Business Management and Director of Owens Community College Leadership Academy

Feb. 27 - "Communicating and Working with Citizens" - The Honorable Tom Waniewski, Toledo City Council, District 5

Mar. 5 - "Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution" - To Be Determined

Mar. 12 - "Communicating and Working with the Media" - Mark Luetke, President, FLS Marketing

Mar. 19 - "Ethics in Local Government" - Susan Willeke, Education Coordinator, Ohio Ethics Commission

Mar. 26 - Graduation - The Honorable Timothy C. Kuhlman, Judge, Toledo Municipal Court
