Founded in 1955, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority was the first port authority in Ohio. Today they focus on three initiatives - Maritime, Aviation and Development. You might be surprised to know that Toledo Express Airport is one of three cargo hubs in the U.S. and the Port of Toledo allows global access to foreign markets through the port operations on the Maumee River. The Port Authority also works to create jobs through its economic development efforts.
