The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce is working to identify community and arts related projects in the region for the upcoming state fiscal year 2017-2018 capital bill. A recommendation will be provided to the Governor and the region’s legislative delegation describing projects that have an economic impact on the region for consideration in the bill.

The Chamber’s process is a collaborative effort between the region’s business leaders and elected officials. This effort has been proven to be successful in previous capital budgets of securing funding for community and arts related projects in the region.

As you consider your project, there are a few criteria that you should be aware of:
• Can the project be eligible for bonding by the state of Ohio;
• Does the project have a connection to a state agency;
• Are the requested funds being used for construction and not operational expenses;
• What is the economic development impact on the Toledo region; and
• What kind of local support is present for the project, including public/private partnerships?

To submit a project for consideration, please complete and return this questionnaire electronically by November 30, 2015. Completed questionnaires and/or questions should be directed to Brian Dicken, vice president of public affairs, at brian.dicken@toledochamber.com or 419-243-8191.

Groups submitting a project for consideration will be offered the opportunity to make a presentation before the Chamber’s White Paper Committee to further explain the proposal. Presentations are expected to be scheduled for the week of December 7.
