At its regular session today, Toledo City Council is expected to vote on ordinances authorizing state grant and loan funding for specific road construction projects. Ordinance 98-18 would authorize $17,024,253 in Ohio Department of Transportation grant funding for the following projects: • $2,860,258 for reconstruction of South Detroit Avenue between the Anthony Wayne Trail and Copland Boulevard. • $4,257,498 for reconstruction of South Avenue between Reynolds Road and Byrne Road. • $1,679,900 for resurfacing of the Anthony Wayne Trail between South Avenue and Glendale Avenue. • $1,000,000 for resurfacing of Reynolds Road between Glendale Avenue and Angola Road. • $375,000 for resurfacing of South Detroit Avenue between Sherwood Avenue and Glendale Avenue. • $400,000 for resurfacing of Cherry Street between Summit Street and Greenbelt Parkway. • $400,000 for resurfacing of Woodruff Avenue between Collingwood Boulevard and Cherry Street. • $2,847,597 for resurfacing and widening of Monroe Street at the intersections of Talmadge Road, Secor Road and East Mall Drive. • $3,204,000 for reconstruction and widening of Perrysburg-Holland Road at the intersection of Heatherdowns Boulevard, Garden Road and Manley Road. Ordinance 99-18 would authorize $1,571,812 in grant funding and $682,093 in loan funding from the Ohio Public Works Commission for the following projects: • $357,532 in grant proceeds for South Detroit Avenue between the Anthony Wayne Trail and Copland Boulevard • $532,187 in grant proceeds for South Avenue between Reynolds Road and Byrne Road. • $299,246 in grant proceeds and the same amount in loan proceeds for the Anthony Wayne Trail between South Avenue and Glendale Avenue. • $199,863 in grant proceeds and the same amount in loan proceeds for Reynolds Road between Glendale Avenue and Angola Road. • $73,600 in grant proceeds and the same amount in loan proceeds for South Detroit Avenue between Sherwood Avenue and Glendale Avenue. • $109,384 in grant proceeds and the same amount in loan proceeds for Cherry Street between Summit Street and Greenbelt Parkway. Council will also likely vote on Ordinance 100-18 which would authorize $2,900,000 from the Franklin Park/Westfield Municipal Public Improvement Tax Increment Fund for improvements to Monroe Street between Secor Road and Nantucket Drive. Other ordinances expected to be voted on include the following: • Ordinance 82-18 which would approve the Mayor’s nomination of Council Member Nick Komives, Harvey Savage, Jr., Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Stacy Cook, Cheryl Grice, Matthew Heyrman, and Chris Monaghan for appointment to the TARTA board of trustees. • Ordinance 95-18 which would appropriate $1,032,003 and renew a contract with Taylor Excavating for providing water and sanitary sewer kills for the City of Toledo, Lucas County Land Bank, and private demolition projects. All Council meetings are held in Council Chambers on the first floor of One Government Center, located on Jackson Boulevard in downtown Toledo.
