TOLEDO, Ohio – Presented by the TMA Ambassadors, the Jeans and Jewels Trunk Show is a uniquely casual event scheduled to take place Feb. 10 and 11 in the Toledo Museum of Art’s Glass Pavilion. The Jeans and Jewels Trunk Show begins with a ticketed extravaganza scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10 from 7 to 11 p.m., which features an open bar and heavy grazing, the chance to purchase one-of-a-kind men’s and women’s jewelry from renowned artisans, glassblowing demonstrations by TMA Glass Studio Manager Alan Iwamura, and entertainment provided by Decorative Sound. Guests will not leave the event empty handed; all attendees will receive a swag bag as they leave. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite jeans and add some bling to their ensemble. Tickets for the Feb. 10 evening soiree are $150 for Museum members and $200 for nonmembers. As a special promotion, individuals who purchase two nonmembers tickets will receive a free Family Level Museum membership. The Jeans and Jewels Trunk Show continues Sunday, Feb. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. Jewelry artisans will return to the Glass Pavilion and showcase their wares for the afternoon event, which is free and open to the public. Hands-on art activities will be available along with free glassblowing demonstrations in the Hot Shop. Specialty beverages, hot chocolate, and jewelry-themed edibles will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the Jeans and Jewels Trunk Show will benefit the Toledo Museum of Art, a private, non-profit organization. Participating jewelry artisans include: Amy Beeler, Jane Lamanna, Katy Mims, Heather B. Moore, Arthur Ragauskas, Robin Schultes, and Sue Szabo. Estate Jewelers, Paula Brown Shop, and the Museum Store will also be taking part in the Jeans and Jewels Trunk Show. As one of the Museum’s primary auxiliary support groups, the TMA Ambassadors create events to raise money for the institution and support exhibitions and programs through sponsorship and volunteering. Most recently, the TMA Ambassadors have helped sponsor the current exhibition Glorious Splendor: Treasures of Early Christian Art and artist Gabriel Dawe’s temporary textile installation Plexus No. 35.
