It’s that time of year again. Hollywood Casino Toledo is hosting the annual Responsible Gaming Education Week. It will start the week of July 31st and conclude with the third annual Color Smash 5K on Saturday, August 5th. Rafael Verde, General Manager of Hollywood Casino Toledo, said “Responsible Gaming is a Core Value of Penn National, the parent company of Hollywood Casino Toledo. We believe gambling is a form of entertainment, a way to have fun and socialize. However, for some, gambling becomes something they need to do rather than a fun activity.” Responsible gaming is something that Hollywood employees focus on all year round, but this week is a special one for Hollywood Casino because the intent is to spread the word about responsible gaming to the general public. According to “the95percent.org”, 95% of the population is able to gamble responsibly without negative consequence. “We take responsible gaming very seriously here at Hollywood Casino Toledo,” said Brian Hopkins, Hollywood Casino Toledo Manager of Slot Operations. “Our team members are trained every year on how to recognize the warning signs of when guests may not be gaming responsibly, and how to assist guests who may have crossed that line or who may need help. Responsible Gaming Education Week is a great opportunity for us to promote gaming as a fun form of entertainment and to stress the importance of responsible gaming to our guests, team members and to the public.” Last year, Captain “A” was introduced into the world. He was the face of gaming responsibly. Throughout the week, he attended many events around Toledo. This year, Hollywood Casino decided to kick it up a notch. You will be able to meet the A.C.E.S team at numerous events around Toledo including Rock & Roar at the Toledo Zoo, a Mud Hens game on Sunday, July 30th; and at the Wood County Fair on Wednesday, August 2nd. It will all kick off with a press conference where the General Manager of the Toledo Property, Rafael Verde will speak as well as Hollywood Toledo’s Manager of Slots Brian Hopkins will speak about gambling responsibly.
