Holland, OH – Transcend Hospice Marketing Group, a division of R/P Marketing Public Relations, was recently selected to contribute to the inaugural report by the Aspen Health Strategy Group. “Improving Care at the End of Life,” includes several pieces that address issues related to financing, care delivery and the ethics of end-of-life care. CEO and founder Martha Vetter and Chief Branding Officer and partner Stan Massey submitted insights that contributed to the report’s “Five Big Ideas to Improve Care at the End of Life.” Their insights focused on stronger reimbursement for palliative care that can yield higher patient satisfaction and quality of life at significant cost savings. Co-chaired by Kathleen Sebelius and Tommy Thompson, both former governors and former US Secretaries of Health and Human Services, the Aspen Health Strategy Group provides recommendations on complex health issues to promote improvements in policy and practice. Each year, the AHSG tackles one issue through a comprehensive, in-depth study. The 2016 focus on End of Life features submissions from experts in the field such as Harvard University, Mount Sinai Health System Center, The Hastings Center, Jewish Healthcare Foundation, Center to Advance Palliative Care, Center for Practical Bioethics, and Coalition to Transform Advanced Care. “We are honored to be a part of this important initiative. Working with hospice and palliative care providers across the nation, we often see patients and families struggle with end-of-life challenges because they can’t or don’t access palliative care – or they access it later than they should to benefit fully,” said Stan Massey. “Transcend Hospice Marketing Group aims to continue generating as much influence and collaboration as we can to support all efforts that improve care at the end of life. We hope this report will spur needed changes in end-of-life care, including convincing major healthcare insurance providers to reimburse more appropriately for palliative care.” About Transcend Hospice Marketing Group Transcend Hospice Marketing Group, a division of R/P Marketing Public Relations, is the nation’s foremost experts in marketing hospice and palliative care organizations.
