The Chamber’s Advocacy and Public Policy department made 752 legislative contacts in 2016. The goal of these contacts is to advocate on behalf of our members to contain the cost of doing business by working with local, state and federal government officials to improve the business climate in the Toledo Region. We believe that lawmakers should take into account how new laws or regulations will affect a business’s ability to compete in a global economy and continue to provide jobs in the region. Next Friday, we are giving our members an opportunity to meet directly with local and state legislators at Morning Access. There is no official program, just time for you to enjoy breakfast and connect with elected officials directly on issues important to your business. This dialogue is designed to foster economic growth and prosperity, making the region a preferred place for diverse talent and innovation. Confirmed attendees are: • Mayor Michael Olmstead, City of Perrysburg • Mayor Craig Stough, City of Sylvania • Bob Reichert, Village of Ottawa Hills Council • Neal Mahoney - Sylvania Township Trustee • Rob Ludeman - Toledo City Council At-Large • Sandy Spang - Toledo City Council • Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon-Wozniak • Wood County Commissioner Doris Herringshaw • Wood County Commissioner Craig LaHote • Wood County Commissioner Ted Bowlus • State Representative Derek Merrin - 47th House District • State Representative Robert Sprague -83rd House District • State Representative Michael Sheehy - 46th House District • State Representative Rob McColley - 81st House District • State Senator Edna Brown - 11th Senate District • State Senator Randy Gardner - 2nd Senate District • U.S. Congressman Bob Latta - Ohio District 5 Reserve your seat today!
