Location: Toledo, OH, 43620 Go to Girl Scouts of Western Ohio/ Careers http://www.gswo.org/en/our-council/careers.html PURPOSE: Designs and implements volunteer training and support strategies while implementing the day-to-day responsibilities for the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program and Fall Product Sales within the assigned region to achieve program and financial goals. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Incumbent is accountable for, but not limited to: • Act as a project manager for events; • Manage, supervise, and oversee the execution of events; • Contribute to the success of the Fall Product Sale and Girl Scout Cookie Program through the design, implementation and management of assigned council wide projects to achieve council program and revenue goals; • Support and implement Sales Strategies; • Implementing and managing the Fall Product Sale and Girl Scout Cookie Program strategies in assigned region to achieve the revenue goal and provide a quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience; • Recruiting and managing volunteers that facilitate the management of the Fall Product Sale and Girl Scout Cookie Program; • Cultivating key community contacts and developing collaborations to achieve program and financial goals for product sales within the assigned region; • Providing input to the development of an innovative strategic, tactical and communication plan; • Manage the financial database, which includes providing exemplary excel skills; • Other duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES: • Marketing Skill: Attracts support for the Girl Scout program, its key messages, and products, by promoting visibility and credibility of Girl Scouts in the community and to girls; identifies, seeks to understand, and influences the local market for Girl Scouting; effectively promotes Girl Scouts program and products. • Volunteer Relations: Understands the function of volunteers; demonstrates flexibility to meet with volunteers; effectively delegates responsibility; monitors use of volunteers within existing constraints and guidelines; recognizes volunteer accomplishments; works effectively with volunteers. • Project Management: Formulates short- and long-term project goals, objectives, schedules and priorities in line with council goals; anticipates issues, obstacles or opportunity that may impact plans or actions; establish courses of action for accomplishing goals while attending to and incorporating information obtained during day-to-day administrative tasks; identifies outcome measures at beginning of project. • Knows team-building techniques and processes; collaborates with others to create optimal solutions; fosters a commitment to a team approach to work; promotes partnerships between work units; collaboratively defines boundaries and outcomes of work responsibilities; shares information with others; recognizes and rewards team accomplishments; shares decision-making responsibility with team members. Organizational Knowledge: Understands Girl Scout purpose and organizational structure, includes functions, operations and interrelationships; keeps up-to-date on key GSUSA and council-specific policies, priorities, processes and practices; understands how his/her job relates to and supports GSUSA goals, including increasing and developing membership and volunteer support; is aware of the organizational culture and knows how work is accomplished; knows the roles and responsibilities of staff and volunteers; is familiar with membership policies, standards, and resources. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of business, marketing or management. Minimum of two years’ experience organizing and directing complex multi-faceted functions in marketing, sales and event planning, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. • Ability to work evening hours and weekends when necessary. • Ability to work in a team environment with commitment to contributing to the organizational goals. • Current valid driver’s license and functioning vehicle for work within the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio region. • Understanding of the applications of the Girl Scout program, philosophy, and policies (may be acquired upon employment). • Successful completion of fingerprinting and a criminal background check as required by Ohio law. • Commitment to making a difference in girls’ lives as expressed in the Ends statements; mission and goals for girls, as noted in the Board Policy Manual.
