At its regular meeting at 4:00 p.m. today, Toledo City Council is expected to vote on Ordinance 215-16, which would authorize a contract award in the amount of $94,500 to the Center for Priority Based Budgeting to implement a citywide budget review process. The ordinance approves the acceptance of a $44,500 contribution from the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation to cover costs beyond the $50,000 allocated for this review in the City’s 2016 budget. This partnership will aim to maximize the effective spending of public resources through implementing a methodology that links city priorities with funding allocation decisions. Other legislation likely to be voted on at today’s session includes: • Ordinance 168-16 which would accept $10,677,460 in grant funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation for resurfacing of Central Avenue from Upton to Cherry Streets, Alexis Road from Telegraph Road to I-75, and Glendale Avenue from the Anthony Wayne Trail to Broadway Street. A portion of the funds are also for reconstruction of Bancroft Street from Secor Road to Parkside Boulevard. • Ordinance 169-16 which would accept $894,984 from the Ohio Public Works Commission for reconstruction of Bancroft Street from Secor to Parkside. Accepting the grant reduces the City’s required match from the Capital Improvement Program fund for federal grant dollars received for the project. • Ordinance 207-16 authorizing $750,000 from the Sanitary Sewer Replacement Fund for the Magnolia Street Reconstruction Project between Summit and Water Streets. The project will allow truck traffic access to properties north of Magnolia via Water Street when construction of the Downtown Storage Basin Project begins in August 2017. • Ordinance 208-16 authorizing $554,000 from the Water Infrastructure Development Fund and $16,000 from the Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure Fund for new water and sanitary sewer lines for ProMedica Toledo Hospital’s Generations Tower Construction Project. All Council meetings are held in Council Chambers on the first floor of One Government Center, located on Jackson Boulevard in downtown Toledo.
