In April, SJS Scottsdale staff Jennifer Smiljanich, CFP® and Austin Grizzell, CFP® CPWA® participated as judges for an annual economics competition attracting middle and high school students from around the Phoenix area. The Arizona Council On Economic Education (ACEE) sponsors two competitions each year: the Economics Challenge and the Economics Critical Thinking Challenge. Jennifer and Austin volunteered as judge panelists to rate presentations by several student teams from four local high schools on a case study and their solution. This year, student teams were asked to prepare a presentation on the potential economic impact of artificial intelligence on workers, business, government, and society, along with generating potential policy solutions. Jennifer and Austin appreciated the ability of the students to connect what they are learning in the classroom to real world trends. We believe that supporting student learning on financial topics helps prepare young adults to make better financial decisions, and in this case, prepare them for a future with AI!   https://lnkd.in/g3Yqqgd4
